To manage butterfly records and photographs collected by atlas participants, the BC Butterfly Atlas has partnered with eButterfly, a new online tool for Canadian butterfly watchers to be able to track and manage their butterfly observations and lists while contributing data critical to the study and conservation of butterflies. Records collected in BC will be shared between the two projects. One of the goals of the Atlas is to increase data sharing and collaboration between groups and projects involved in butterfly research and conservation.
Records can be provided to the Atlas in two ways:
- Via eButterfly: Records can be entered and photographs submitted directly to the eButterfly website (www.eButterfly.ca). On the eButterfly website, you can sign up for an account, enter and map your surveys and records, upload photos, and track your contributions to the Atlas. This is the preferred method of providing data to the Atlas. To submit your butterfly records via eButterfly, sign into your account at www.eButterfly.ca.
- Via email, fax, or mail: Completed forms or records (including photographs) can also be emailed, faxed, or mailed to the Atlas. With your permission, we will upload your data and photos to eButterfly. Contact information for data submissions is available on the Contact Us page of the website.
